Ava's birthday is May 25 and Haven's is June 3. Their parties are always pretty close together, which is fine, but this year Memorial Day fell on May 25 and it was a good day for everyone to get together so they planned both parties together on that day. It's always fun when these families get together.
Ava wanted a painting party and Haven wanted a nature party, so they combined the two themes and made a fantastic, fun time for all the kids (and grown-ups too). They reserved Ritter Springs Park Pavillion and decorated it with cute table centerpieces. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids to find as we went for a walk to the pond and stream. They painted rocks and wood pieces. The food was yummy and their cake was so cute with Haven's 9 candles on one side and Ava's 4 candles on the other side. They blew out the candles at the same time.
Of course, Gavin found a snake on their walk to the stream. The minute he saw that snake, his shoes were off and he was going for it.

A lesson in how to know it is not poisonous and to NOT pick up any snake.
I just love these sweet girls. They are 5 years apart, but have so much fun together. Ava, you are so funny and cute. We never know what to expect from you. Sometimes you are such a grown-up little girl. And Haven, you are so lovely and creative. You are athletic and good in your gymnastics class and then so nurturing and tender with little children.
I am so blessed to be Mema to these girls, as well as the other eight wonderful grandkids!
Love you all!
