Rodeo Hay..Veterans Day..Class Play

One of the things we look forward to in the Fall is the Rodeo at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.  We usually try to take any of the grandkids who want to and are old enough to sit and enjoy it.

This year I really wanted Haven to go because of how much she loves horses...and well, all animals, really.  Jadon went last year and really wanted to go again.  So here they are....

They are getting ready to go out for the "dash for cash event."  They put nickels in a row in the middle of the arena and then let all the children who want to, line up on either side.  When they say "go", the kids all run to the middle and find as many nickels as they can.

Jadon was counting his nickels before he got out of the arena.  They did a great job.

I was just looking back through my November pictures to see what I could use for this post and found this one of Gavin.  His school had a special Veteran's Day recognition and he got to have his Great Grandpa Charles, a veteran, walk in with him.  When he was at my house one day he asked to look through my cedar chest with my daddy's war uniforms in it.  Daddy was a Navy veteran of WWII, a radioman on a ship in Okinawa.  Gavin tried on one of tops.   My goodness, my daddy must have been skinny.  We had to roll up the sleeves, but here's Sailor Gavin.....

Also, in November, Willard South 3rd Graders presented "It's A Jungle Out There".  Gavin happens to be a Cheetah.

 Great job, Gavin!!

Love,

Mema
