Bailey's Birthday!

Ten years ago today, we welcomed Miss Bailey Rebecca Bischoff into this world.  Little did we know what an incredibly unique, sensitive, and gifted person she would be.  And did I mention beautiful?

Karla and I drove to Houston on Wednesday, November 10th and stayed until Sunday, the 14th with them.  We got to celebrate Bailey's birthday a little early.  She shared her terrific cake that Wendy had made for her with us.  She wanted a Nancy Drew cake and this is what Wendy came up with.  Is this not awesome?  The book is a brownie, but the cake and the magnifying glass is white cake with a clear plastic plate for the glass.  The footprints are fondant.  It's always so fun to get there and see what a great cake she has made for their birthday!

Karla and I got to spend some much needed time with Wendy on Thursday and Friday, visiting and shopping.

Friday night, we had pizza, then let Bailey open her presents and blow out her candles and eat her cake.

Then we took Bailey to the mall on Saturday.  We had so much fun at Justice, and The Disney Store and trying on dresses at Penneys.  She (and we) picked out about 10 dresses for her to try on and every one was dreamy, but here's the one she settled on.  The picture quality is not so good.  Wendy sent it to me and I uploaded it to my email, so it's not very clear.  But trust me, it was a great choice and she looks so cute.

The are so many things I could tell about Bailey, but here's one about her sensitive side.   After a sermon from Pastor Gregg, they talked about homeless people in Sunday School and how to help them.  Bailey decided to make a "homeless kit" to hand out to people standing at intersections holding signs.  This kit included a bottle of water, crackers and a tract that Bailey wrote called "The ABC's of the Gospel."   She is very bold when it comes to telling others, even her classmates, about Jesus.

I love you, Bailey Bek,

Mema
