Much To Be Thankful For

I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
  • My Father is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He loves me and has saved a place for me in His Heavenly Home.  He is all I need, but He has chosen to bless me abundantly with...
  • A husband who loves and serves Him, and loves, protects, and honors me.
  • Children, who are of Godly character, with love and respect for us, their spouses and their spouses families.
  • In-law children, who were dear to me before they became my family, but are even dearer now.
  • The most precious grandchildren anyone could ask for.
  • My Sister and my Brother, whom I love more and feel closer to at this season of our lives than ever before.
  • My church family with friends that truly are "family" and I can't imagine not having them in my life.
  • Friends from years ago that I have recently reconnected with and enjoy chatting with.
  • A comfortable home, a job that allows me to be at home, a vehicle that runs....
The list could just go on and on.  Let me just say, I am blessed beyond measure!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day.  Our meal is at 5:00 pm which allows me to cook all day.  It's the only day of the year I really enjoy cooking.  I put the turkey in, then prepare all the other dishes, make pies, rolls, etc.  Then everyone shows up around 5.  Karla brought 3 yummy salads and Donna B. brought a wonderful cheesecake.

As everyone gathered around the table, I asked if anyone would like to thank God for our food and family.  Gavin's hand shot up and he said that he would.  So he prayed, "Dear God, thank you for the baby in my mom's belly......My eyes popped open and Gavin was smiling ear to ear as he continued his prayer for family members and the food.  I think I might have even vocalized the "yeeeaaaahhhh" that was welling up inside me.  Honestly, we knew that this was a possibility, but when the announcement was officially made, everyone was thrilled.  New baby Wallace is due May 28, 2011.  Wish I had a picture to insert here of Lindsay's almost non-existant little baby bump.

Did I tell you how thankful I am?

God, You are so good.

Donna
