Christmas, 2012

I think its about time I wrote about our Christmas holidays, don't you?  Gary was off for two weeks...Christmas week and New Year's week.  I kind of got used to him being here and hated when he had to go back to work.

This year, for the first time, all the kids were off for Christmas week.  Doug and Wendy got here the Saturday before Christmas and left the following Saturday.  Lindsay and Heather and the school kids were off for two weeks and Todd and Matt were off from Christmas Eve until the day after New Years.  How nice to be able to do things together whenever we wanted.

I fixed a turkey on Saturday and Wendy and Doug arrived around 4:30.  So the others all came over for supper and to visit.  Pappy and I had gone to Academy and got a new trampoline because I was afraid our old one just wouldn't hold up for all of them anymore.  Lucas helped Pappy put it together.

Here's three of the most wonderful, beautiful families I know and we are so proud of all of them..

Lucas and Micah really wanted to try shooting Karla's gun, so Matt and Gavin came over and brought their guns and they all practiced behind Karla's house.  Such a good way for the boys to learn to handle a gun safely...with their dads and Pappy.

Lucas hit the target frame and bent it.

Bailey and Ruthie found some skeletons in the pool.   Nice, girls.....

On Friday, we went to the Discovery Center.  Cozy, Steve, Curt, Amanda, Jackson and Annabeth joined us.  We had a group of 21 all together!!  Awesome!!

Haven changed her mind about riding the bike, so Heather took her place.

Our last night before Doug and Wendy left to go back to Texas, we were entertained by Bailey and Ruth Ann.  They had been practicing this for days.

We went to see the "Hobbits" at the theater, played games, went to the mall, just enjoyed being together.  I love this time of year and I love our family.

After this week with all the grandkids, Gary and I went to see "Parental Guidance" at the theater.  We related to the different personalities of each of those kids and see that in our own grandkids.  It's amazing how they all have such distinct and  unique qualities and yet they play and get along so well together.  And...it's amazing how much love a mema and pappy can have for each and every one of them!

What a Merry, Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy New Year!!!!!
