Christmas 2011

I know my last post was in October and so much has happened since then that I need to have a marathon posting day, but I just have to tell you about our wonderful Christmas morning.

Usually we let the grandkids open gifts and stockings and then the adults play a game to determine who gets to be #1 in the gift card exchange.

This year, since we have little Ava, I had been thinking about letting the grandkids act out the Nativity Story on Christmas morning.  This is the perfect year for it and I could get some great pictures out of it.  So, I ordered some costumes for them and we had a 2 minute rehearsal before the presentation and then, went for it.  Here they are getting ready.

Costumes on, everyone!

Places, everybody!!

Director Wendy giving last minute instructions.

I read the Christmas story from Luke and Matthew and the kids came in on their cues.

Lucas (12) and Bailey (11) were Mary and Joseph.  Ava (7 months) was Baby Jesus.  Gavin (10), Micah (9) and Jadon (7) were the Kings.  Ruth (8) and Haven (5) were Angels.  Jude (3..almost 4) and Cael (3) were Shepherds.

After the story and a multitude of pictures from all the moms and me.....they got a little tired and ready to move on to opening presents.

What great kids!!! They were so willing to do this...not one of them complained or misbehaved, even though I sprung it on them at the last minute.  We prayed that morning that Jesus would be pleased with our gift to Him.  We have nothing to offer but ourselves and we wanted to show Him that we love Him with all our hearts.

Thank you God, for your incredible life-changing gift to us of your son Jesus.  And thank you for all these precious gifts to this Mema and Pappy!

Until our production goes on tour.......

Donna
