Next Stop - Kansas City, Missouri

Bailey spent the night and we got up early Friday morning to head to Kansas City.  Heather and the kids traveled with us and stayed until Monday to help me with registration and weekend duties. This year we had three lodging sites in Kansas City.  Our numbers were bigger there than the other two cities  so we needed more than one place to put the 222 missionaries.  Registration was at Northgate Baptist Church,  so that's where we headed to welcome the 11 youth groups who would be there between 1-4 pm. Three groups stayed at Northland Baptist Church and two groups stayed at Grace Community.  The other six stayed at Northgate. Everyone ate and worshipped at Northgate, and it worked out really well.  This is Bailey demonstrating our room a.b. (before airbeds).

Since Heather and the kids were leaving on Monday, we all went to Crown Center on Sunday after church for lunch.  Noah was with Bob in KC, so he got to go with us.  We loved eating at Fritz's.

You order your food through an intercom by your table.  Then a little train travels on the rail above the tables and delivers your food.  Pretty fun!

Bailey kept her cousins occupied while Heather and I registered the youth.

Sunday morning before services at Northgate, Heather and I went to Beverly Hills Baptist Church to see Brian and Sarah Grout.  Brian was called there as pastor a few months ago.  Beverly Hills will be a ministry site for a couple of our youth groups.  While we were visiting with Brian and Sarah, Evelyn Evans walked in.  We were so surprised to see her and she was so glad to see us....especially Bailey!

For our Tuesday afternoon off, Bailey chose hands down to go shopping at the Plaza.  I don't know how many times I called her Wendy when she was trying clothes on.  It just took me back a few years.

We also went to see Andy and Mindy Ward at their house which was really close to the Plaza. It was a really great day!  We had so much fun!  I really needed that time with Bailey.  She is growing up so fast and I just don't get to spend enough time with her.  What a beautiful young lady, inside and out!

Once again, I had to leave on Wednesday.  This time to take Bailey back to Doug and Wendy.  They were bringing a group to Lambert's in Ozark on Wednesday afternoon, so we got back in time to meet them there....then say our good-byes.

I got to wash my clothes and see Gary again before I left for Denver, Colorado early Thursday morning.

Two weeks down...............
